Sunday is another Electric Sunday! Get rid of those old electronics for free!

Fairfax County residents can recycle televisions, computers and peripheral devices – including keyboards, speakers, printers, external drives and other such materials – and unbroken fluorescent light bulbs and tubes on Electric Sundays. There is No Charge for Fairfax County residents to participate in Electric Sunday; however, they may be required to show proof of residency.

All electronics recycling events are held from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Dispose of hazardous waste in Reston on Saturday

Hours are 9 AM – 2 PM at the recycling facility at the Reston South Park and Ride, near Reston Parkway and Fox Mill Road. Materials accepted include:

  • Batteries:  Button, Rechargeable (NICAD), Mercury and Lithium Batteries are the ONLY household batteries accepted by this program.  Rechargeable batteries may also be taken to additional collection points. Dispose of Alkaline batteries in the regular trash.

Sunday is electronics recycling day!

After any services you may attend on Sunday (or even before) you might want to make a stop at the I-66 Transfer Station, 4618 West Ox Road and give them all your electronic recyclables, because on Sunday there is no fee for accepting them.
