From Fairfax County police:
ASSAULT, 4100 block of Meadowland Court, 4/24/13, 2:10 p.m. Officers were called for a shoplifting with assault at a business in 13300 block of Franklin Farm Road. The suspect fled. Officers located the suspect who allegedly resisted officers when they attempted to detain him. Maher Hana, 37, of Chantilly, was charged with assault, larceny, and assault on a police officer. The first victim was not injured. The officer received minor injuries.
The blog has gotten a report of a police incident in Franklin Farm on Monday that sounds alarming. The Fair Oaks police station has been asked for comments. Details are sketchy and may not be accurate. Any official information from police will be reported here.
From Fairfax County police:
Police are investigating a bank robbery that occurred Thursday, November 1. Around 1:37 p.m. a man entered the Capital One Bank located at 13344-A Franklin Farm Road, implied he had a weapon and demanded money from a teller. The teller complied and the suspect fled. There were no injuries.
The suspect was described as white, in his 40’s, 5 feet 4 inches to 5 feet 7 inches tall, medium build and wearing a black zip-up style jacket, black pants and a black hunter’s style hat.

Fairfax County police report a fatal car crash today in Franklin Farm:
On Tuesday, March 20 around 12:56 p.m., police responded to a crash on the Fairfax County Parkway near Franklin Farms Road.
A 56-year-old Ashburn-area man was driving southbound on Fairfax County Parkway and for unknown reasons, left the roadway just past Franklin Farms Road and struck the sound barrier. After passers-by had pulled the driver from the vehicle, the vehicle caught on fire. The driver was medevaced to a nearby hospital where he died.
Investigation by Crash Reconstruction Unit detectives is still underway and more details of the crash will be forthcoming tomorrow. However, speed and alcohol are not considered factors in the crash.

Last week’s police log indicates liquor was stolen, presumably from the ABC store, in Franklin Farm. This isn’t the first time.
