Chantilly residents will gather Wednesday night for a standing bingo fundraising game for charity that this week will benefit the victims of the Oklahoma tornado.
All local residents are invited to attend.
Hosted by Staybridge Suites, 3860 Centreview Dr., in Chantilly, 100 percent of the money raised Wednesday night at the event will be sent to the victims’ fund, said Carl Brown, assistant general manager at the hotel, in an email to Patch.
The hotel provides dinner for participants, from 7-7:30 p.m., and the bingo game takes place from 7-9 p.m. The cost to play is $5 per bingo board.

PEEPING, 13700 block of Marsden Court, 5/18/13, 5 a.m. A 29-year-old woman reported someone was allegedly looking into her home. Her husband detained the individual. Jose Saguero Najarro, 33, no fixed address, was charged with peep into a dwelling.

BURGLARY, 3900 block of Colis Oak Court, 5/13/13, 2:05 p.m. A resident reported someone entered the home and stole a television. Entry was made through a window.
House entered, jewelry stolen from house near Penderbrook

BURGLARY, 3800 block of Maple Hill Road, 4/30/13, 1:05 p.m. A resident reported someone entered the home and stole jewelry. Forced entry was made through a rear door.
Three charges filed against Chantilly man related to unauthorized use of car
Not a good idea to drive on an expired license. Don’t compound it by resisting arrest! From Fairfax County police:
UNAUTHORIZED USE, 13900 block of Rockland Village Drive, 4/30/13, 1:15 p.m. An officer was getting information reference a possible unauthorized use of a vehicle when the vehicle drove into the parking lot. The driver sped away and the officer chased him. The officer eventually caught up to the suspect. Arman Dueno, 37, of Chantilly, was charged with speed to elude, driving on revoked operator’s license, and resisting arrest. The victim later decided to not prosecute for the original unauthorized use of a vehicle.
Celebrate Chantilly on Saturday
Chantilly is celebrating, well, that Chantilly exists and is a nice place! Saturday is Chantilly Day at Sully Center, 13910 Metrotech Drive near the K-Mart. Events as reported by the Chantilly Patch include:

Shoplifter assaults two, including a police officer in Franklin Farm incident
From Fairfax County police:
ASSAULT, 4100 block of Meadowland Court, 4/24/13, 2:10 p.m. Officers were called for a shoplifting with assault at a business in 13300 block of Franklin Farm Road. The suspect fled. Officers located the suspect who allegedly resisted officers when they attempted to detain him. Maher Hana, 37, of Chantilly, was charged with assault, larceny, and assault on a police officer. The first victim was not injured. The officer received minor injuries.
WMATA contractor loses handicap contract, to cut 110 jobs in Chantilly
The Chantilly company MV Transportation lost its contract with the Washington Metropolitan Transit Authority, and is thus cutting more than a hundred jobs locally. Fortunately, many of those losing their jobs are expected to be picked up by the new contractor.
WMATA provides special service to handicapped individuals who cannot take buses or get to the Metro.
Chantilly dog owner accused of abusing dog
From Fairfax County police:
MALTREAT ANIMAL, 13800 block of Walney Park Drive, 4/14/13, 6:20 p.m. An Animal Control Officer responded to pick up a dog that was running at large. The officer noticed sores on the dog. The owner, My-Linh Nguyen, 58, of Chantilly, was charged with dog running at large and failure to provide adequate care.
Body at scene of grass fire identified
The Chantilly Patch has the scoop (via Fairfax County police) on the unidentified man found Sunday near a grass fire at the intersection of the Fairfax County Parkway and Lee Jackson Highway:
Fairfax County Fire and Rescue announced Wednesday that they have identified the body of the man firefighters found Sunday in Chantilly as Handel Victor Stephens-Dowd.
Stephens-Dowd was 24 years old and lived on Leafcrest Lane in Fairfax, according to Fairfax County Fire and Rescue.

The medical examiner has not yet determined the cause or manner of death, according to the news release. Fire investigators and police continue the investigation.
