The three horses slashed at Frying Pan Park on April 26 will be back on the job for special needs children this month.

“With careful care from Hoof and Paw Vets in Purcelville and many loving volunteers, they are expected to return to their very important jobs, after healing and rehab,” wrote Lucinda’s owner, Caroline Eglin, on a web page she created to raise money for the horses’ veterinary bills.

There is no suspect under arrest yet, but a person of interest:

Park employees saw a man stumbling around the grounds about 11 a.m. April 26. He was white and about 5 feet 8 and 160 pounds. It’s unclear if he had anything to do with injuring the horses, but he was a stranger to employees at the park.

A reward fund has been created. If you would like to contribute to it, you can do it on the Spirit Open Equestrian website.
