Aerospace company EADS North America and subsidiary Airbus Americas are to relocate in November to a new building overlooking Dulles Airport as part of a consolidation effort.

As a result, EADS is to vacate space in two Rosslyn office buildings, including one that sported its logo up until last week, while Airbus is to leave its Herndon location. Good news for local engineers:

Virginia officials will announce Monday that Bechtel, one of the largest engineering, construction and project management companies in the world, will relocate its global operations headquarters from Frederick to Fairfax County, according to sources in Fairfax and Richmond.

The move to Reston Town Center will bring 625 jobs and an $18 million investment.

Reston assisted living facility complains about Rosh Hashanah celebration

Posted on November 6, 2011 at 1:09 pm in

In one of these too strange to be true news stories, the Hunters Woods Fellowship House in Reston recently complained when Jewish residents there celebrated the Jewish New Year. According to the Washington Examiner:

Attendees of the Sept. 30 Rosh Hashanah celebration said Hunters Woods barred them from using its common room for their celebration then called the police when residents took a few chairs outside so they could celebrate there. Police responded to the home’s complaint, but didn’t file any charges – or even an incident report.
