Meanwhile over in Cascades … alleged murder for hire

Hopefully nothing like this is going on in Oak Hill, but it is going on over in Cascades:

A Sterling-area resident has been arrested on federal murder-for-hire charges after she allegedly made arrangements to have a woman with whom her boyfriend also was having a relationship killed.

Ann Jenene Cinnamon, 49, who lives in Cascades, was arrested Oct. 21, after the man she had contacted to carry out the murder worked with the FBI to construct a case against her. She was arraigned Tuesday, Oct. 25, and remains in federal custody. She faces 10 years in prison if convicted.

Suspect arrested who posed as police officer and assaulted Herndon women

Some good news. A suspect was arrested in sexual assaults of at least two women in Herndon, who succeeded by pretending to be a police officer.

The man who detectives say has been posing as a police officer and sexually assaulting women in Herndon has been arrested.

Detectives were trailing 31-year-old Thomas Kim of Herndon Monday when he went out trolling for victims. Investigators say he approached three women while they were watching him. When one of the women got in the car with him, officers quickly moved in and made an arrest.

Herndon to get MOMs (Mom’s Organic Market)

Herndon does not enjoy a Whole Foods, but it will soon be getting a MOM (Mom’s Organic Market) in the K-Mart shopping plaza.

MOM’s Organic Market features 100 percent organic fruits and vegetables, as well as organic grocery and wellness products. The Herndon location will offer gourmet cheeses, sustainable seafood choices, sustainable, organic, and craft beers and wines, gluten free foods, raw foods, local and organic meats and dairy items, bulk foods, pet products and environmentally friendly household products.

The store’s grand opening is this Friday.

Boogieing for Breast Cancer Awareness in Reston

In case you were not at the Reston Town Center yesterday, you missed this:

Like a pink blur, about 100 dancers took over the Reston Town Center Saturday afternoon and were gone in about three minutes.

The dancers, who were breast cancer survivors and supporters, were part of a flash mob to raise breast cancer awareness.

You can still make a donation to the cause, if you wish.
