Man robbed of Oxycodone in Herndon

Ahmed Sami Fahmi, 23, of 2135 Ferguson Place in Herndon, was arrested on Friday, June 10. Around
6:45 p.m. a 50-year-old man located police officers on Parcher Avenue and reported he’d been
robbed. An investigation determined the victim was invited into the suspect’s home to use the
phone. The suspect reportedly brandished a handgun at the victim and took his Oxycodone
medication. The victim left the home and encountered the officers in the area. Officers located
Fahmi in the area and took him into custody. The medication and handgun were recovered.
Fahmi was charged with robbery and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Parcher Avenue is in Herndon near Worldgate Drive.

Composite of suspect in Merrybrook Court sexual assault released

Does this person look familiar to you? It is a composite of a man who sexually assaulted an Oak Hill woman on Saturday.

From a Fairfax County Police email today:

Police are investigating a sexual assault that occurred in the early morning hours of Saturday, June 4. Officers were initially called to an apartment in the 13700 block of Merrybrook Court around 5:30 a.m. An investigation determined the victim, a 23-year-old woman, awoke to find a man in her bedroom. The suspect displayed a weapon and sexually assaulted the victim then fled from the home. The victim did not require medical treatment.

The suspect is described as a man, unknown race, with a light complexion. He is 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches tall with a large build. He was wearing a black tank top, khaki cargo shorts and a light-colored cloth wrapped around his head that covered his face.  It appears the suspect forced entry through a locked door. Other family members were home but were not injured. This investigation is ongoing.

Low Cost Rabies Clinic on June 26, 2 – 4 PM

Here’s an opportunity to vaccinate your pet at low cost.

LOW-COST RABIES CLINIC: The Fairfax County Animal Shelter will host a low-cost
rabies vaccination clinic for pets on Sunday, June 26 from 2 – 4 p.m. at the Sully District
Governmental Center located at 4900 Stonecroft Blvd., Chantilly, VA 20151. The cost of the
rabies vaccine is $12 per pet and vaccines will be provided for dogs, cats and ferrets. To receive
a three-year vaccination, pet owners should bring proof of their pet’s current rabies vaccination.
All other pets will receive a rabies vaccine valid for one year. No rabies tags will be issued at the
clinic; however, 2011 dog licenses will be sold at the clinic for an additional $10 per dog. All
dogs must be on leash and cats and ferrets must be in carriers. Cash and checks only will be
accepted at the clinic. The reduced-cost rabies clinic is being hosted as a partnership between the
Fairfax County Animal Shelter, the office of Fairfax County Board Supervisor Michael R Frey,

Attempted robbery on Rembrant Way

A 74-year-old woman was the victim of an attempted robbery on
Thursday, May 26 around 9 a.m. in the 13800 block of Rembrandt Way. The suspect displayed a
knife. He was described as black, between 14 and 16 years old, about 5 feet 7 inches and 105
pounds and was riding a black, low-set bicycle. The victim was not injured.

Rembrant Way is in south Oak Hill, near Centreville Road and Lowe Street.
