Fairfax County Board restricts certain vehicles from being stored in Fox Mill Estates

Posted on May 13, 2010 at 8:33 pm in

From the Fox Mill Homeowners Association Website:

The proposed amendment to the Fairfax County Code that would expand the Reston Large Area Community Parking District to include Fox Mill Estates has been passed by the County Board of Supervisors. This item is moving forward because of a request by the Fox Mill Estates Homeowners Association. What this means is that the following vehicles will be prohibited from being parked on the streets, and it will be enforced by county police. A violation carries a $75 fine. We are currently in a 30 day period in which the police will issue Warnings, with full implementation beginning June 1st. If you currently have one of these items parked on the street, it needs to be parked appropriately in your garage on behind the house, or stored at an alternate location. They cannot be parked in the driveway per our Association Guidelines.

  • Boat Trailer
  • Watercraft (boat)
  • Motor Home
  • Camping Trailer
  • Trailer or Semi-trailer, even if attached to a vehicle
  • Vehicle >= 3 axles
  • Vehicle with a gross vehicle weighted rating (GVWR) >= 12,000 lbs

Vehicles temporarily parked (for up to 48 hours) for the purpose of loading, unloading or preparing for a trip are exempt. More information is available at www.fairfaxcounty.gov/fcdot/rtap.htm/cpd
